Portraits are by far my favorite type of photography. I love landscape photography too but it's always so fun to see how everyone's personality and styles differ. Specializing in being an on location portrait photographer is the best of both.
Winter can be cold and miserable but it's also really unique and cool (pun intended). If you look at snowflakes they are all different. Every snowflake has a unique pattern and personality, just like people. When the sun hits the snow in the morning it creates the most gorgeous glitter effect and I love sparkles.
I really enjoy winter photoshoots because a blanket of snow can make the same location look completely different. We worked with Ash to create this glam punk look that was stylish but also strong and vibrant. We opted for blue tones and classic jewelry, a blue sapphire heart necklace accents the neckline of her cobalt colored dress.
The tree line here is the perfect backdrop to give that "at the edge of the forest look" but also gave us a simple open field of snow for the location.
This portrait session was actually a double session. After Ash's glam look, we photographed a creative look - something we call "the Enchantress". She's as beautiful as she is deadly. Here's my favorite final image, photoshopped to add creative special effects.
